desx is your public (and social) desktop in the cloud. invite friends to your desktop, run apps, view files, play games, and more. desx will be available on windows 10/11 during the beta phase (mobile beta after the desktop beta in december 2026). check out the video for more info.
users are represented by avatars that feature fun filters, effects, animations, and actions. these avatars can move around the desktop, hook up with other avatars (not hook up as in like, hooking up.. more like, attaching your avatar to their avatar. and then maybe you can hook up later?), flip around, all kinds of stuff. everyone on desx sees the same things on screen at once, letting you chat, watch videos together, listen to music, browse the web, doomscroll tiktok, and so much more.
desx is just one component in the desx network. it launches side by side with two social networks: desxter and desx.us. desxter is your social home in desx, allowing you to create posts, share photos and videos, and stay connected with your friends. desx.us is desxs interactive community forum, allowing users to engage in discussions about any topics they're interested in. desxter and desx.us can be accessed within the desx client, on the web, and in their own seperate mobile apps.
i grew up in the 90s when the internet was first starting to show the world what it could really do. i remember how excited i was for the future - connecting us in ways we never could have imagined. i was so disappointed when that isn't what we got. sure, in some ways we are more connected than ever.. but mostly the internet has become this thing that keeps us scrolling, keeps us clicking through, keeps us isolated. we can do better. desx is my attempt to create a robust community that can let us interact with each other in a variety of different ways. same users, same friends, same community - many different outlets. you can help us build a more united digital world. maybe one that could even change the real one?
